Ingredients:

  • 3 wholesyum baby apple hearts

  • ½ cup butter - room temperature

  • ¼ molasses 

  • 1 egg, lightly beaten 

  • 1 cup granulated sugar (white) & another ⅓ for rolling

  • 2 cups flour 

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • ½ tsp salt (skip if using salted butter) 

  • 2 tsp ginger

  • 2 tsp cinnamon 

  • 1 tsp allspice (or a mix of nutmeg, cloves, etc)

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.

  2. Beat butter, sugar, and molasses until fluffy, scraping sides as needed.

  3. Microwave wholesyum baby apple hearts for 30-40 seconds until the consistency of purée.

  4. Mix purée and egg into the butter mixture.

  5. Combine dry ingredients in a separate bowl, then gradually add to wet ingredients on low speed.

  6. Chill dough between 30 minutes to 48 hours.

  7. Roll chilled dough into 1-inch balls, coat with remaining ⅓ cup sugar and space 1.5-2 inches apart on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

  8. Bake 8-10 minutes until golden and cracked.

  9. Serve with a cozy holiday drink!

Makes 36 cookies.
