BLW Beet Pancakes: For Babies First Solid Bites

Meghan says, "This is one of my favourite foods to make for my daughter. I made this when my daughter was first starting solids and they are very BLW friendly. It also is an incredible way to use up extra rice, oat or multigrain cereal, and of course, regular flour can be used in this recipe too. It's a great way to pack a lot of nutrients into one meal and know they are having a great start to their day."

Wholesyum Beet Pancakes

  • 1 egg

  • Splash of vanilla (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Heat pan to medium-low heat and add oil or use a nonstick pan. Thaw Wholesyum Beet Heart in the microwave until puree form. Add all ingredients into a bowl and mix well. Scoop small pancake portions into the pan. Cook on both sides until golden brown.

  2. Thaw Wholesyum Beet Heart in the microwave until puree form.

  3. Add all ingredients into a bowl and mix well.

  4. Scoop small pancake portions into the pan and cook on both sides until golden brown. Enjoy!

Note: These pancakes are quite soft, which makes them a great first introduction to solids and basically melt in their mouth. Option to add more flour to get a more solid consistency of preference. Beet Hearts can be substituted for our Apple Hearts, too (coming soon).
